The years 2008-2010 will go down in the annals of world history as a year of meltdown. These days several phrases have become common parlance: Bank failures, mortgage crisis, layoffs, sell offs, buyouts, bailouts, meltdown and Government stimulus package.

The Governments of various countries are trying to stimulate their economies by injecting funds to revive their ailing economies. In a nutshell, everyone (Governments or its citizenry) wants to be revived. Revival or stimulus package has become the norm.

As Christians, we know that every problem has a spiritual solution. God has given us a recipe for revival and when we are revived we can then take the gospel to the world.

What’s revival? Revival is God’s people wholeheartedly returning to Him. Revival I occurs when God’s chosen ones can no longer be distracted from their commitment to Him, don’t need to be entertained to remain interested in Him and find deep satisfaction in a world that is centered on Jesus alone.

God’s stimulus package is stated clearly in Chronicles 7:14. Today instead of seeking the face of Jesus (Heb: 12:2, 2Cor. 4:6 &18) we are looking at the mirror of our face. We are hypnotized by the “gospel of self”. Our churches have become “group therapy”. We rather are a consumer than be consumed.

Jesus is offering the church today revival or correction. We blame everyone but ourselves. We have a covenant with God. Our accept God’s stimulus package (true revival) we need to shown alternative lifestyle and set- apart our lifestyle.

RECIPE FOR OUR MELTDOWN AND OVERCOMING TRIALS.

  • Revival
  • Get Your Praise On. We need a cue from King David; he showed us the key to spiritual survival. Like David praise need to be our soundtrack. Praise need to be our lifestyle
  • Soak in the Word of God. Read Psalm 119. Verse 83 says “Though I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget your statutes” Our Bible is not optional. If we soak ourselves in the word of God will have absolute trust in God like the three Hebrew boys in the book of Daniel 3: 17-18
  • Practice Giving Encouragement. The book of Hebrews was written to believers who were actually considering going back to Jewish faith.
  • Fight for Your Promises. Apostle Paul told Timothy to fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim 1:18) When God gives us prophetic promise, we should used them as weapons. Example: Abraham( Heb. 4:18)
