Every born again saint need to be daily guided and controlled by the Holy Spirit. Believer needs daily spiritual self-examination for holiness, sanctification of the spirit, unlocking the promises of God, awaiting the rapture and personal spiritual growth and eternal blessing with God.

We all like to do full medical checkup once a year why not practices daily spiritual checkup/cleansing and self-examination. The bible is very explicit about our daily intake of the word of God and our spiritual growth. It’s your personal responsibility to make sure you are growing in faith, grace, love and the knowledge of God (Deut. 8:3; Matt. 4:4; 1 Pet. 2:2; 1:5-11; 1 Tim. 4:7-8; 2 Tim.2: 15; John 15 1-8; Heb. 4:12-13)

Daily consecration, purification and purging are part of Spiritual cleanup. Personal prayer time with God is also important because it draws you closer to God. If there’s no daily spiritual cleanup a believer will be stagnant, reprobate, ineffective and inefficient in the dispensation of the grace, love and mercy of God. Daily self-examination in faith pleases God and releases more sanctifying peace (peace of God)

God wants every believer to prove his/her faith in His son Jesus Christ. Anything that’s not faith is sin. The preeminent of Christ and abiding in Christ should be our daily perspectives and mantra. It requires the help of the Holy Spirit to be fruitful and pleasing to God.

Characteristics of a believer who daily cleanse his way (Psalm 119:9)

  • Quiet time with God in thanksgiving, praise and worship and prayer.
  • Spiritual discernment, Sensitivity, always forgiving and growing in the love and peace of God.
  • Always ready to share the word of God and be an instrument of the grace of God.
  • Manifesting the power and presence of God.

Characteristics of a believer who is not daily spiritually cleaning his/her self:

  • Not reading, meditation and adherence to the word of God.
  • Sunday Christian and only pray when there is crisis.
  • Unforgiving, unloving, complaining and always frustrating the grace of God.
  • Spiritual dullness, unfruitfulness and displeasing to God.
  • Reprobates, redundant, lack of discernment and fire of the Holy Spirit.

Conclusion: Every believer should “keep on testing” and “keep on examining” his/her self. We never get beyond the need for regular self- examination. This is a present-tense verb (1 Cor.11:28; Gal. 6:3-5) every believer will give account of their time on earth at the return of Jesus Christ. This is why this topic is very important to every believer to work their salvation with fear and trembling (Phi. 2:12)
